What happens after your Plumbing Apprenticeship

Oct 5, in Hints & Tips

Do you have to find work after your apprenticeship or can you stay with the company you’ve been training with during your training? This is a common question for many plumbing apprentices who are just finishing their apprenticeships and starting in the field.

It all depends on the apprenticeship. Usually at the end of the training, a job is offered as a plumber with the company. Also, throughout the 4-5 year apprenticeship, it is important to build relationships in the field so when the training is over, you have a list of contacts who could help you find a job.

Plumbing is one of those trades that will always be in demand. So either way, there will be plenty of opportunities. If you really want to branch out and expand your career, start with small private jobs. Eventually over the years, you can build a client list and start your own plumbing company.
