Tool Discounts for Apprentice Builders

Dec 13, in Hints & Tips

Are you an apprentice carpenter looking for big savings on tool purchases? You can select from a wide range of tools sold at great prices at Mitre 10, Bunnings and Home Hardware. These stores have a comprehensive inventory of power tools, home supplies, timber products and carpentry equipment. Check for special offers as several hardware stores also offer apprentice builder discounts.

Many building tool suppliers support the national apprentice assistance program. The national apprentice carpenter discount scheme is made possible byTools for Your Trade, a federal program intended to give financial assistance to eligible apprentices during the first year of their training.

There are also regional apprentice discount programs and incentive schemes. Apprentice builder discounts are also available in Western Australia through the Apprentice Edge card. This card is sponsored by Student Edge Pty Ltd in partnership with the Department of Training and Workforce Development. This card is exclusively available to Western Australian trainees. It is valid for one year and entitles the holder to big discounts on brand-name tools.

Buttsworth Industrial Supplies and other hardware suppliers also offer apprentice carpenter discounts under the AIS National Apprentice Card Scheme. Australian Industrial Supplies (AIS) has a national network of suppliers which offer apprentice kits at special prices. Apprentice builders can register as a member with AIS and get discounts on brand-name products in AIS member stores. The membership card is valid in all AIS stores, however, special pricing varies from store to store.

Apprentice builders should research government websites to know the latest incentives and aid programs for them. Apprentice carpenters should check with their local stores and suppliers for the availability of special pricing and apprentice kits. Signing up for membership with building suppliers and hardware chains is also a convenient way to get discounts. Such membership is privately run and intended to give incentives to frequent buyers.

If your apprentice status does not meet the eligibility criteria for government aid, getting a shopper card will at least help you cut your educational expenses.
