Electrical apprenticeship jobs require you to install and maintain the electrical and wiring systems in homes, businesses as well as factories. Typically a person with an electrician certification will focus on either construction or maintenance, although there are those that are able to practice both.

Electrical apprenticeships require you to work under the supervision of a licensed electrician until you get to master the necessary skills. If you are completing a third year electrical apprenticeship, you are required to undertake the Licensed Electrician’s Assessment (LEA) in order to complete your apprenticeship and therefore obtain your electrician certification.

As with all other apprenticeships, electrical apprenticeship jobs require you to work under the supervision of a licensed electrician until you get to the point where you have mastered the required skills and have obtained an electrician certification. As an electrical apprentice, you are not necessarily allowed to perform all the tasks that a licensed electrician can perform.

Your responsibilities will change each and every year of your apprenticeship. For example, when starting off in your electrical apprenticeship jobs, you may be required to perform very simple tasks like fetching electrical tools as may be required by the electrician or drilling holes required for the electrical system. However, as you progress in your apprenticeship and therefore gain more skills, you may be required to perform harder tasks such as testing wiring or indeed other tasks that may be required by the electrician.

In order to get electrician certification, you will be required to pass the necessary exams. You should therefore look out for electrical apprenticeship jobs as they will offer you the opportunity to develop the skills that you will require if you are to ply the trade successfully. Also, it will be very important for you to take your apprenticeship job very seriously as they are a great way to start off your career.
