Becoming an apprentice carpenter or apprentice builder requires a variety of skills which are essential to become a certified professional carpenter. Prior to applying for the position of apprentice carpenter, you should obtain a school certificate or take some vocational school courses. You should be well prepared for the certification exams and must be proficient in all areas of carpentry prior to entering the ranks of a certified tradesman. Once you have managed to become a certified professional, your work compensation will increase accordingly. Usually, you will be able to earn significantly more compared to your wage as an apprentice carpenter or apprentice builder.
