The Automotive Mechanical Technology heavy vehicle training course is geared towards apprentice or trainee heavy vehicle mechanics in the road transport equipment service industry. The course prepares students to work with trucks and buses. Students will learn how to utilise various systems and how to maintain, test, diagnose and repair the systems used. Completion of the course allows students to be employed as a heavy vehicle motor mechanic in the automotive industry.

Automotive Manufacturing (Bus/ Truck/ Trailer)

The Automotive Manufacturing heavy vehicle training course is for people who want to work in the bus, truck and/or trailer manufacturing industry. Students learn how to read and interpret drawings and set up and utilise tools and equipment. The course teaches students techniques for welding, fabrication, assembly, painting and component installation. Students are also taught about workplace relationships and processes, customer services, quality standards and the workplace environment. Career opportunities can lead to employment as a bus, truck and trailer manufacturing tradesperson, manger or self-employment.
