What is the difference between a traineeship and an apprenticeship?

How long is a traineeship or apprenticeship?

▪ New Zealand citizenship; or

▪ People with permanent residency visas; or

▪ People with temporary protection visas; or

▪ People who are engaged or recently married to Australian citizens and are holders of provisional spouse visas under subclass 820 and 309.

What are pre-apprenticeships or pre-vocational courses?

Pre-vocational and pre-apprenticeship courses are provided to help you develop skills to prepare you for your traineeship or apprenticeship. This allows you to experience a particular job before committing to it and also reduces the term or your traineeship or apprenticeship.

I already have qualifications. Can I still get a traineeship/apprenticeship?

Some eligibility requirements do set limitations on prior qualifications especially if your qualifications are in the same field in which you wish to do your traineeship or apprenticeship.
