  • Get a head start in electro-technology
  • Discover what you will be doing in an electrical trade
  • Enhanced opportunities for employment as an apprentice
  • Classroom environment and on-the-job work experience based program

Electrical pre-vocational courses are designed as a stepping stone into either an electro-technology apprenticeship or a specialist electrical field.  The course provides you with the experience and basic skills that make you ready to go from your first day on the job.  You will become familiar with the basic tools, equipment and terminology involved in the trade.

The subjects involved in the course are designed to increase the overall employability of students.  General theory of the trade will be coupled with mathematics and general practical skills.  Students also learn all about the possible hazards of the job and general workplace safety.

Recognition of prior learning may entitle students to be granted certain credits towards their qualification.  The skills and knowledge gained through work experience and formal training are recognized towards your qualification.

Pre-vocational courses help students gain skills and improve their chances finding an apprenticeship or work.  If you have the willingness to learn new things and participate in new learning experiences, then an electrical pre-vocational course could be for you.
