A Certificate III in Business Administration is the course that will help jobseekers gain employment in the administrative support role or help currently employed individuals to achieve even greater success in their business administration careers.

If you already have some background in basic business administration or have had some actual experience working as someone who manages and helps other workers in the office, then a Certificate III in Business Administration will train you to be even better and become more professional.

What jobs await

Once you successfully finish this course, you will be qualified to in the human resource department, as a clerk or accounts clerk, a receptionist at the front desk, data entry operators, and even administration assistants, among others.

On-Site and Off-Site Learning

When you undertake a Certificate III in Business Administration you will be undergoing off-site and on-site learning of your skills. During your apprenticeship, you will be learning under qualified individuals and will be working on real assignments. By giving you time to learn on the job and in class, you will be able to effectively put all of the theories that you learn in class into an actual working environment – after all, you will be dealing with people. And the best way that you can learn how to effectively deal with people is to work with them on site.

Another good thing about working on site during your apprenticeship is that you are able to earn while you learn. This makes the Certificate III in Business Administration course even better since, you will have a firsthand experience as well in being an employee. You will then have a better understanding of how an employee works; what he or she encounters and needs in the office; and, in the end, how to handle such cases yourself when you pass the Certificate III in Business Administration and get a job in the said field.

What you will learn?

Aside from learning how to handle people during your on the job training, you will also learn to use the keyboard with speed and accuracy; play a part and participate in OHS processes; you will also be able to efficiently make and design text documents, electronic visual presentations, spreadsheets to be used in the office. You will also learn how to organise the work schedules of your coworkers; take care and process all of the accounts payable and receivable; process the office payroll correctly and on time. You will also learn how to give proper customer service by delivering and monitoring said service to customers and taking notes on what the customers said and needed. You will also have to be able to keep yourself up to date with all of the business technology.

There are a lot of opportunities to succeed in any of the different types of apprenticeships, but before that happens you have to first find the career that you want. Making that first choice is important because the apprenticeship that you choose will dictate the career that you will have in the long run.

To help you get an idea of what career paths you can take, here are three of the most popular types of apprenticeships.

Automotive Apprenticeships

An automotive career is one of the best career choices that you can make since everyone, anywhere in the world, relies a lot on cars and automobiles to help get around. This industry also has one of the types of apprenticeships which continues to experience growth, since the number of automobiles taking to the streets isn’t slowing down. In fact, there are a lot more cars today than there were in previous years, and that number is steadily growing.

That same demand for automobiles will also be reflected in the demand for automotive apprentices, thus making sure that you have a strong and rewarding career ahead of you. This is especially favorable for you if you happen to love automobiles and would love the chance to work on the cars.

Electrical Apprenticeships

Electrical apprenticeships are another one of the types of apprenticeships that continues to enjoy a growing demand. So if you love working on electrical systems, travelling to different locations, working on different projects and adding some light to the world in the process, then an electrical apprenticeship is something that you will enjoy and be successful in.

During an electrical apprenticeship, you will be learning under the careful and experienced eyes of licensed electricians. You’ll also be learning the ropes while you work on actual projects. But not only will you be learning the skills that you will need to succeed in your career, you’ll also be paid while learning – which is probably one of the best things about undergoing an apprenticeship.

Plumbing Apprenticeships

Plumbing apprenticeships are also one of the types of apprenticeships that have a high demand. Not many know this since the plumbing career is a very unassuming one. Despite this, the plumbing career is one of the most rewarding careers that you can have after a successful apprenticeship. In fact, if you don’t mind getting your hands wet, you can even become your own boss after you finish your apprenticeship.

There are many more apprenticeships that you can choose from. These three however should give you a feel of what kind of life and career awaits you after a successful apprenticeship. So choose wisely. Pick something you like doing and you will succeed in your career.

For those of you who love plants and soil – and everything else in between – you’ll be happy to know that there are a lot of landscaping jobs available to you after you successfully complete your landscaping apprenticeship.

To give you an idea of the exciting and artistically challenging career that you have ahead of you, here are a few of the landscaping jobs that you can work in or specialise in after you finish your apprenticeship.

Landscape Designer

Ever marveled at how beautifully landscaped the gardens are in front of those fancy hotel buildings? Well, the garden didn’t just grow there by itself overnight. No, someone had to come up with that design. Someone knew exactly which plants were going to be used. That someone can be you if you want. All you need is to finish your landscape apprenticeship and you will be on your way landscaping parks, golf courses, and public and private gardens.

Landscape Worker

If you fancy yourself more of the hands-on type, then you can also put your landscaping training to good use by putting a landscape designer’s vision a reality. From setting the soil up to planting the plants that the designer wants (and making sure that the plants not only live, but thrive), you will be on-site and will be working to make sure that the design comes to life. This is great if you love plants and love working with your hands.

Parks and Garden

Another job that you can do when you successfully finish your apprenticeship, is to take care and maintain parks and gardens. Of course taking care of parks and gardens require technical know-how; especially the publicly owned parks and gardens. Not only will you be tasked in designing the park or garden’s landscape, you will also have to assist in taking care of the plants in the parks and garden.

Planting and Gardening

Aside from taking care of plants, you can also raise the plants yourself. You will be working in a nursery and greenhouse and will be responsible in planting, harvesting, and, if need be, pruning the plants. You will also have to maintain their healthy growth by taking care of weeds and pests.

As you can see, these landscaping jobs always require creativity. That alone should be enough to tell you that these landscaping jobs aren’t going to be boring at all. You also get to work outdoors and help not only keep the surroundings clean, but also contribute to helping take care of our environment. There are many landscaping jobs that will be waiting for you if you choose to enter this field and all you need is enthusiasm and the willingness to learn and undergo the proper training.

A signwriting apprenticeship is a four-year course which will guide, train and prepare you to become a trained and qualified signwriter. There are many sign writing courses, but all of them aim to accomplish one thing: to teach anyone who enters a signwriting apprenticeship the skills necessary to be able to plan, design, build and apply decals and signs.

A signwriting apprenticeship will also teach you to be able to place these decals and signs on any vehicle, display mounts, and other structures.

What is a signwriter?

A signwriter is the go-to guy when there is a need to build, design, or paint signs on any structure or surface. That means he gets to works on different surfaces like plastic, brick and wood, and on different structures like shops, large buildings and even churches to help them attract attention and potentially provide information to the public as well.

Who can succeed as a signwriter?

Basically anyone who has a bit of artistic blood running through their veins has a strong chance of succeeding in a signwriting apprenticeship (regardless of which sign writing courses he or she takes). Still, there are other skills that you might need like drawing, a good eye for colour, the ability to construct scaffoldings and climb high places, and many more. All of these are needed to be able to succeed in your signwriting apprenticeship.

What does a signwriter actually do?

Planning

First of all, signwriting apprentices need to be able to talk and deal with people – discuss what the client wants. Afterwards, you will have to be able to design the project – probably handing over to the client a quick mockup of the project’s design. You should also be able to estimate the cost of the whole project, the amount of materials that you will need and how long it may take to finish the project.

Preparation

You will also learn how to prepare the surface for your project by stripping old coating with solvents, wire brushing, heat, or water and sand blasting. Matching colors is also very important so you will need to know how to use pre-mixed paints, mix different colours and pigments. You will also have to have a working understanding of the different materials that you might need to use like timber, metal, plastic or glass.

Building

Then comes the actual building and completion of the project. Here you will have to use different tools of the trade, like brushes, spray guns or rollers to apply the paint and finishing to the surfaces. Drawing and sketching the letters or patterns as well as painting the background is also required. Sometimes you will even have to design and create two or three-dimensional lettering and graphics using computers and computer-operated machinery.

If all of these seem overwhelming for you, don’t worry. There are a couple of great sign writing courses that can help prepare you for such tasks. All you need is to make good during your signwriting apprenticeship and pass all of your sign writing courses and you will not have hard time succeeding in this field.

Two of the top Australian traineeships that you can choose from are business administration and IT traineeships. If you are looking for a career that won’t only be successful but will also be personally enjoyable and rewarding then you should definitely consider taking either the Business Administration apprenticeship or the Information Technology apprenticeship.

These two apprenticeships are two of the top Australian traineeships since there is a continually growing demand for information technology experts and for people who will be able to support, handle and manage fellow coworkers.

IT Traineeships

A lot of things run on computers right now and since the world is very reliant on computers running efficiently, there is not only a steady and growing demand for people in the Information Technology field. It’s a good thing then that there are many IT traineeships Australia offers.

That’s why if you love computers and things digital, then you won’t go wrong if you choose these Australian traineeships, since finishing this traineeship will open various doors of opportunities for you.

When you do an IT traineeship you will be learn about various operating systems and how to install and operate them; how to provide troubleshooting assistance and advice to clients; the proper care of all of your computer hardware; be safe and careful when working on computers and all of the various ICT systems; work with all of the advance features of different computer applications and how to provide basic system administration among others.

Business Administration Traineeships

If working with people and not computers is more your thing, you can always take on any of the business administration traineeships Australia has to offer. By doing so, you will be taught and trained on how to work, manage, and support your fellow coworkers. When you finish the business administration traineeship, you will be able to work as a human resource expert, a receptionist, an accounts clerk, or even as an administration assistant, among others.

When you undergo a business administration apprenticeship, you will be taught how to handle and work with coworkers more effectively. Being able to make documents, spreadsheets, visual presentations, payroll, and provide customer feedback and manage support are just a few of the things that you will learn when you successfully finish the Australian traineeships in business administration.

Offsite and Onsite Learning

When you take either the IT traineeship or the Business Administration traineeship, you will undergo both onsite training and offsite training. This is done to make sure that you know how to utilise all the theories and lessons that you learned in class, and use them effectively on the job. When you learn all of these completely, you will have all the necessary tools to succeed in your career.

There are two traineeship paths that you can take if you want to enter the business industry. You can either earn a diploma business administration or earn a business administration certificate by taking up a traineeship.

While the two paths might take your through different courses, the aim remains the same: to succeed in a career in business administration.

What’s the difference?

A diploma business administration course will develop in depth skills in the field of your choice and is a more advanced qualification than the business administration certificate. When you have a diploma business administration tucked under your belt, you will be effectively increasing your chances of being hired as a program coordinator, project consultant or executive officer in many various fields like human resources, accounting, banking marketing, retailing, management, logistics or administration.

The business administration certificate course, on the other hand, will take you through a traineeship which will prepare you to take on entry-level field jobs such as clerks, data entry professionals, junior personal assistant, office administrator assistant or office administrator, just to name a few.

Quality Training

Whichever course you decide on, successfully completing either a diploma business administration or a business administration certificate means you will be undergoing quality training. The business administration training that you will receive will teach you all about how to effectively work in a business environment by teaching you all about the business organisation and how to correctly do your part in the said organisation, since you are probably not going to work alone when you join a company.

Training for the diploma business administration or the business administration certificate will consist of time spent in class and time spent on the job, where you will be putting all of the things, lessons, and theories you’ve learned to use in an actual working environment. You will be working under qualified and experienced individuals, which means you will be learning the tools of the trade firsthand and will also get to learn real-world tips on how to function inside a working organisation.

Both class work and traineeships will effectively teach you how to work with a team, since the class work will also be done in groups and the traineeships will expose you to a real life office environment and will require you to effectively work as part of a functioning team. This kind of training was made to make sure that you not only learn your lessons, but also learn to apply them at work.

The lessons that you will learn during your classes and the invaluable experience that you will learn during your on the job training will be important tools in helping you build a successful and rewarding career in the field of business administration.

Have you finished high school, but don’t know where to start your career? Well if you are looking for a secure job with a good salary, then you should consider a career in fabrication. This career is well suited to people who like working with their hands, don’t mind a bit of hard work and are interested in entering the engineering industry.

To get started in this career you will need to do a fabrication apprenticeship.

As part of the fabrication apprenticeship training you will be required to do both class based training and hands-on, practical training, which means you will need to find a job as a fabrication apprentice.

Fabrication tradesmen are part of engineering industry and are usually employed as:

Manual metal arc welders (MMAW)

Gas metal arc welders (GMAW)

Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)

Oxyacetylene welders

Angle grinders

Students can do a fabrication apprenticeship program either full-time or part-time. It takes about three years to complete the program if you attend part-time. A fabrication apprenticeship program is divided into classroom studies and hands-on training. The aim of the off-the-job training is to simulate working at a jobsite. Working with hot metals, combustible gases and grinders can be very dangerous, so special emphasis is placed on workplace safety for apprentices and coworkers. You will learn how to operate equipment safely and what to do in an emergency situation.

In the general fabrication apprenticeship program you will learn about all the aspects of fabrication, including metal fabrication, welding, forging, structural steel erection, sheet metal working, metal finishing, pattern making and molding. You will also learn about using computer controlled equipment that uses metals, plastics, carbon fire, composite materials ceramics and other materials.

Upon completion of this program, you will be awarded a Certificate III and can be employed as a boilermaker (heavy fabrication), sheet metal worker (light fabrication), or engineering production worker. After a few years’ experience, you can consider advancing to be a supervisor, trade instructor, welding inspector or supervisor, site manager or structural draftsman. You could even start your own business and provide apprenticeship training to future fabrication engineers!

The pay rate for newly graduate fabrication engineers is pretty good. Fabrication engineers are in high demand so it’s generally easy to get a raise in pay if you work hard and know what you’re doing.

You can also continue your education by getting more advanced training with a Certificate IV. This qualification allows you to specialize in boilermaking, sheet metal working, patternmaking, surface finishing, welding, or casting and molding. It also provides you with the training to immediately move up to welding supervisor. You can also get a Diploma in Engineering Technology, which would qualify you to find employment as a Drafting Person or Engineering Technician.

So if you are seeking a job offering good pay, steady employment and advancement opportunities, then a career in fabrication might just be for you.

Like planting a seedling, the choice to take on a new career can blossom into a successful life decision if you successfully take horticulture courses while undergoing your apprenticeship. Therefore, if you are planning a change of pace and career, taking horticulture courses to have a successful career in the horticulture industry is a good way to go.

How will you know if this is for you?

If you love plants and working with your hands, and don’t mind getting them dirty most of the time, you are going to feel right at home working in any of the different horticulture jobs. Working outdoors should also be something that you should look forward to, since you will be doing most of your work under the sun. You also need to inject a bit of artistry into your work, so having some art running through your blood can help with your future horticulture jobs.

What to expect during your apprenticeship?

Before you get to succeed in any of the horticulture jobs, you have to first pass all of your horticulture courses during your apprenticeship. These horticulture courses will effectively teach you how to recognise plants (a very important skill in this career); plant and prune trees and shrubs; put up and take care of plant displays; and propagate plants as well. You will also be taught how to establish turf; dispose of weeds; treat the plants’ diseases; and remove plant pests. You will also be taught how to operate and maintain various pieces of machinery.

Your training will be a mix of on-the job training and in-class lessons. This approach will effectively teach you all about the lessons and theories that you will need to be a successful horticulturist and give you the time to test these lessons and put them to use in an actual working environment. For your on the job training you will be learning under qualified individuals, who will teach you expert advice and tips.

What are the different horticulture jobs?

Parks and Gardens

The Parks and Gardens sector of the horticulture industry is for you if you want to be an assistant to a gardener. Working in the parks and gardens sector means that, aside from learning how to effectively take care of plants, you will also be prepared to work in public and private gardens, parks, reserves and recreational facilities, as well as other establishments.

Landscape

You can also become an assistant and even a qualified landscaper and work on designing, constructing, and renovating the garden and the garden landscape in private and public parks, gardens, reserves and recreational facilities. You will creatively use plants and other natural resources to make the selected area and its surroundings beautiful.

When it comes to apprenticeships NSW can offer you not only a lot of industries to choose from, but apprenticeships for trades that are in very high demand, thereby offering you that all-important job security. However, once you enrol yourself in any of the apprenticeships Sydney offers, there are also a couple of things that are expected of you.

After all, since the Australian government has offered its strong support for the apprenticeships NSW provides, it’s pretty normal that they also expect the best performance from you.

Stick to it

Normally, your apprenticeship will run for around three years and, of course, you are expected to finish your apprenticeship training. Barring any unforeseen circumstance, there is really no reason why you won’t be able to stick to your 3-year apprenticeship. Also, the opportunity to earn while you learn is a very attractive enough reason for you to finish your training.

Financial incentives

Not having enough money to continue your apprenticeship training won’t even be a reason when you’ve enrolled yourself in the apprenticeships NSW has open since there are a number of financial assistance that are offered to apprentices like allowances (there’s a Youth Allowance for those aged 16-24, Austudy for apprentices aged over 24, and Abstudy for Indigenous Australians of any age), assistance for those who live away from home, assistance for apprentices with disabilities, and the tools payment initiative. Those who enroll to the apprenticeships NSW offers can avail of the financial assistance, depending, of course on their need. By offering these incentives to apprentices, the Australian government is ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to pursue a trade.

Responsibilities

The apprenticeships Sydney has listed gives a lot of opportunities for individuals, like yourself, who are looking to start a career in a particular trade, however, there are some things that are expected of you, even if you are just starting out.

First of all, you really have to work hard, following all reasonable and lawful instructions from your employer. Your employers are there not only to hire you but to teach you your trade.

You are also expected to work hard to become a qualified tradesman in your particular industry. That’s why you should pass all trainings and assessment, and attend not only your on-the-job training, but your in-school training as well.

When it comes to apprenticeships Sydney is never lacking of opportunities. Whether you are still in school, or out of school, an adult, there are many open doors for you if you are looking to expand your horizons and start a meaningful career as a qualified tradesman. And when you get into an apprenticeship training, you will be taught the skills and knowledge that will help you get the meaningful career that you deserve.

Plumbing is everywhere in the modern world. Yes, everywhere. Without plumbing, people will have a very difficult life indeed. With plumbing being such a constant and vital part of everybody’s daily comfort and lifestyle there is ample opportunity for you to make a living out of being a plumber.

Government

Amongst all of the different types of apprenticeships, a plumber is one qualification that can get you hired within Federal and State Government authorities. This already gives you a wide range of employment options from which you can choose. You can either work for public works or you can work for the Australian Defense Force. There are opportunities for employment in the government for plumbers who have finished their apprenticeship.

Contractors

You can work for one of the many reliable contractors in the country. Good contractors can offer job security and benefits for qualified individuals. They can also offer good work environments and flexibility as contractors are able to assign you to different places for different projects.

Self-Employment

With enough experience under your belt you can be your own boss and pursue self-employment. The learned skills gained in a plumber apprenticeship can offer you self-employment opportunities. As a self-employed plumber you will manage your own plumbing business. You will have full control of your working life, being able to take on projects whenever and wherever suits your needs.

Whether you’re working for an employer or are self-employed you can improve your chances of employment for particular projects and contracts by specialising as a Heating and Ventilation Plumber, Sprinkler Fitter, Roofing Plumber, or Irrigation Installer. After you finish your apprenticeship, a plumber specialisation can open up further opportunities for you.

If you’re considering being an apprentice plumber or are already one and wondering what future opportunities are out there for you, you can rest assured that with the right training can have a bright (albeit sometimes wet) future waiting for you on the other side of your plumber apprenticeship and specialisation.
