A retail trainee works in various size stores & retail outlets and is responsible for assisting customers to make product choices & then process their purchases. This traineeship takes 12 months to complete.
Duties May Include:
- advise customers on selection, price, delivery and use of goods available from the store
- operate cash registers and accept payment
- take special orders
- package goods for customers
- price, stack and display items for sale
- be aware of health, safety and welfare issues and practices
- participate in stocktaking
- order items
Personal Requirements:
- a helpful, courteous manner
- neat appearance
- good communication skills
- able to deal accurately with money
Education & Training:
- Minimum year 10 with good results in English and Maths
