Electricians install and maintain electrical components, wiring, equipment and systems. Electrical apprenticeships take 4 years to complete.

Duties May Include:

• Install and terminate wiring systems;
• Install electronic/electrical apparatus;
• Maintain and repair apparatus & associated circuits;
• Test electrical apparatus and circuits;
• Diagnose & rectify faults;
• Undertake commissioning procedures of apparatus and associated circuits

Personal Requirements:

• interest in mathematical & technical activities
• practical & good hand coordination
• good eyesight and normal colour vision
• able to do precise & detailed work
• able to work in a team & independently
• physically fit
• good communication skills

Education & Training:

• Minimum Year 10, good Maths & English.
