Automotive Parts Interpreters undertake sales, stock control and administration in relation to automotive replacement parts such as engine, brake and transmission components, batteries, headlights and tyres and accessories such as seat covers, tow bars and car cleaning equipment. This apprenticeship takes 4 years to complete.

Duties May Include:

• Follow workplace OHS procedures;
• Contribute to workplace communication;
• Carry out stock control, warehousing and merchandising procedures;
• Identify automotive parts/components and provide information and advice customers;
• Apply sales procedures including carry out cash and/or credit/funds transfer transactions;
• Build customer relations;
• Carry out manual handling operations;
• Operate a computer to gain access and retrieve data;

Personal Requirements:

• Good communication and sales skills
• Interest in clerical and administrative work
• Organised approach to work
• Problem solving skills

Education & Training:

• Minimum year 10 with good results in English and Maths.
